Dirty Freq’s is a Bi-Monthly Drum & Bass and Dubstep event currently held at Illusions Nightclub in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. We have been running for over 4 years and offer the best atmosphere of any music event in Mansfield. In addition to this we also pride ourselves in bringing some of the best Drum & Bass artists that the scene has to offer alongside some of the best DJ and MC talent from the local area.
The first event was held on the 17th February 2007 at The Town Mill on Bridge Street and started out as a small night which catered for Breaks, Dubstep, Hip-Hop and Drum and bass and was run by Chris Short (Shorty). Shortly after the night began Daniel Seward (Hoax) and Phil Innes (Phil Hustle) became involved and the music policy changed to Drum & Bass for the main part of the night and various other styles for the first hour.
The night continued running well for the first year but at the start of 2008 went from strength to strength and built up a very good following and also provided a place where the people of Mansfield could enjoy Drum & Bass as an alternate to Pop, R&B, Dance etc in an awesome venue.
In 2010 Dirty Freq’s got the oppurtunity to take a big step forward and decided to start hosting its events at Mansfields biggest nightclub, Illusions. Sadly this meant the departure of Phil who decided he wanted to concentrate on running his record label and also his DJ’ing career. Since moving to Illusions Dirty Freq’s has become one of the most popular music events in Mansfield and has welcomed some of the most respected artists in the Drum & Bass scene to entertain its crowds.
April 2011 saw Dirty Freq’s biggest lineup to date to celebrate our 4th Birthday. Brockie, MC Det, Nicky Blackmarket, Transit Mafia & MC P-Fine. In the future we are looking to continue providing Mansfield with quality music, A list DJ’s and our trademark sound and atmosphere.
Dont take out word for it though Come down and see for yourself. You wont be dissappionted. As P-Fine would say “BIG LIKE THE OCEAN THAT HOUSES THE WHALE!”
